I love the fact that Mount Holyoke is a women’s college and a welcoming community that encourages you to be who you are, but I can’t help feeling like there is something missing from my college experience…boys. Will I ever see guys on campus?

Missing the Men

Dear Missing the Men,

When I founded the school, dapper gentlemen from the Andover Seminary courted many of my pupils. Nowadays, within the consortium there are many gentlemen who frequent the college and attend classes. I have also been told that men venture to Chapin Auditorium to take part in rambunctious socials. However, my intention was to establish an educational sanctuary to further develop the minds of young women without the distraction of young men. Perhaps, take some time to glance around. I’m sure you will find more than you expected.
